Camp I

This week I was given the awesome opportunity to work at Camp Invention.  It is a fun and innovative science camp for elementary age kiddos.  A few of the kids I worked with at my summer camp attended the program and I was able to spend a few extra moments and create a few extra memories with them.

Everything was smooth like butter until one kid asked "Ms. Kirstie, on the first day of SAY this year are we going to play the cookie on the face game?"  (we play this game every year.  It's the game where you place a cookie on a kid's forhead and they have to get it into their mouth without using your hands...)  I looked at the kid and my heart sank.  "Buddy... do you remember where I'll be the first day of SAY?"  His shoulders dropped and said "oh yah..."  I hugged him so hard.  That moment, by far, has been the toughest moment yet.

Peanut Butter and Honey Bars

New recipe for Homemade Oatmeal Bars:

4 eggs, 1 cup applesauce, 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1/2 cup honey, 5 cups oatmeal, pinch of salt, 1 cup protein powder, (optional: 1 scoop flaxseed)

350 degrees for 25 minutes in the oven. New bars recipe. Also a perfect pre or post workout snack.

2 percent

I started with a personal trainer in mid April and so help me is it hard and fun.  After 2 weeks I have lost 2 percent.  It doesn't sound like a lot, but if you were expecting non-fat milk and instead you drink 2 percent, what a difference it makes.
