Rice is nice

One of this weekends projects will be maintaining great teacher status by dyeing rice for ,my preschoolers. Next is putting it into buckets with small cups, straws and little plastic numbers. My real plan is to get their little hands working to develop those fine motors...

Right now it's drying in my backyard.

Hat needed

My friend Sara put out an apb on Facebook looking for beanies for a person in her church community whom has cancer. I'll always take another reason to knit.

New apron!

Hmmmm... Which apron to wear today as I bake some oatmeal bars. It's a hard choice when they are so cute... Especially since they were both made by the FABULOUS Sarah Dillon!

Check out her etsy shop called "moose conspiracy."

National Bloody Mary day

This day is one of my top 5 favorite holidays of the year. It's only fitting that Jon and I celebrate the holiday with his secret recipe. Mmmmmm

365

My goal for the year is to live one picture a day. 365 pictures for the expected whirlwind of 2013.

Camp I

This week I was given the awesome opportunity to work at Camp Invention.  It is a fun and innovative science camp for elementary age kiddos.  A few of the kids I worked with at my summer camp attended the program and I was able to spend a few extra moments and create a few extra memories with them.

Everything was smooth like butter until one kid asked "Ms. Kirstie, on the first day of SAY this year are we going to play the cookie on the face game?"  (we play this game every year.  It's the game where you place a cookie on a kid's forhead and they have to get it into their mouth without using your hands...)  I looked at the kid and my heart sank.  "Buddy... do you remember where I'll be the first day of SAY?"  His shoulders dropped and said "oh yah..."  I hugged him so hard.  That moment, by far, has been the toughest moment yet.
